Carlos Edwin "Carly" Col贸n, Jr.聽is a聽Puerto Rican聽professional wrestler聽better known internationally by his聽ring name聽Carlito. He belongs to a wrestling family, being the son of聽Carlos Col贸n, Sr., who introduced him to wrestling. His mother was born in聽Canada, which grants him the聽Canadian citizenship. Col贸n debuted in his father's promotion, the聽World Wrestling Council聽(WWC), becoming a 13-time聽WWC Universal Heavyweight Champion.聽During the early years of his career, he made appearances for the聽X Wrestling Federation聽and Funking Conservatory, winning his first international championship for the second. In his native Puerto Rico, he is known as both Carly Col贸n and Carlito. In 2003, Col贸n signed a developmental contract with聽WWE, working for the promotion until 2010. He worked in聽Ohio Valley Wrestling聽(OVW) for sixteen months, mostly wrestling in tag team matches while making appearances in WWC. On October 7, 2004, Col贸n made his debut performing on the main event of聽SmackDown!聽as聽Carlito Caribbean Cool. Col贸n is a former聽United States Champion聽and聽Intercontinental Champion聽and has been part of both the聽Raw聽and SmackDown聽brands. He is the only wrestler to win a championship on two separate debuts in WWE and the second Puerto Rican to become Intercontinental Champion after聽Pedro Morales. At聽WrestleMania XXV, Col贸n and his brother,聽Eddie Col贸n, became the only tag team to unify the聽WWE Tag Team Championship聽and聽World Tag Team Championship.
