Moacir Fenelon de Miranda Henriques (PatrocĂnio do MuriaĂ©, November 5, 1903 – Rio de Janeiro, August 14, 1953), better known as Moacyr Fenelon, was a Brazilian filmmaker and producer, a member of the Portuguese-Brazilian Miranda Henriques family. He was one of the founders of Atlântida Cinematográfica (along with JosĂ© Carlos Burle). He stood out as an important advocate for Brazilian cinema. His first films, É proibir (It's Forbidden to Dream) (1943), Gente Honesta (1944), and Vidas Solidárias (1945), reveal a social concern and realism rare at the time. In 1946, he directed Sob a Luz do Meu Bairro (Under the Light of My Neighborhood). In 1952, he directed Tudo Azul (All Blue), considered his best film, produced at Flama Filmes, which he owned.
